- The final selling price and buyer of the 6,792sq ft home remain a secret
- The apartment was originally listed for $24.5million
Kelly Ripa has finally sold her New York penthouse after remaining on the market for five months.
The 6,792sq ft property, located in Manhattan’s SoHo, was originally listed by the television host and her husband Mark Consuelos at $24.5 million in January.
While the final selling price remains under wraps, the property’s anonymous buyer likely got a bargain, as the New York Observer reports that it was sold ‘at a considerable discount.’
Throwing shade: The apartment boasts a magnificent outdoor terrace that exceeds 3,000 square feet
Big profit: It was bought in 2005 for $9.1m but she and her husband want $24.5m for it
According to Curbed, the property remained on the market for so long because of it’s ‘haphazard layout.’
The site reports that the apartment ‘is said to have turned off prospective buyers, especially those who were looking for a Soho bachelor pad and not a place with a bunch of bedrooms for children.’ (Ms Ripa and Mr Consuelos have three; Michael, 16, Lola,12, and Joaquin,11.)
The five-bedroom loft is set over two floors and boasts five bathrooms, two home offices and a media room. It also boasts a 3,073sq ft roof deck complete with hot tub.
Selling point: Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos have sold their SoHo penthouse for an undisclosed amount of money
Its other features include a home gym, powder room and library.
Inside the 20x35ft living room a central staircase is set against a striking Balinese-style wall leading to a kitchen complete swathed in marble and blue stone with two dishwashers and two fridges, as seen in the pictures obtained from DavidPaler.com.
The talk show host and her actor husband bought the property in 2005 for $9.1 million after selling their old apartment a few floors below.
Spacious: Ripa’s beautiful SoHo, New York loft has five bedrooms, five bathrooms and is set over two floors
Luxury pad: The place also has a hot tub and outdoor kitchen
Open-air: The penthouse’s airy dining room comes with a modern chandelier and floor-to-ceiling windows that open up onto the terrace
A source close to the couple told the New York Daily News: ‘You look at them and say, wow, they really made it.
‘This is how celebrities are supposed to live. But it’s tasteful, and suitable for a family which you don’t find a lot in downtown lofts.’
The apartment was sold by two brokers, one of which is Raphael De Niro, son of actor Robert De Niro.
De Niro is also the the exclusive broker on a $100 million apartment at the City Spire building at 150 W. 56th St.
Place to relax: The terrace comes equipped with a hot tub and outdoor kitchen
White-washed: The home’s master bath is covered in pricey marble and comes with an old-fashioned tub.
